My Turkish Importer Asked for TSE — What Should I Check?
A practical pre-shipment checklist when a Turkish importer asks a foreign manufacturer for TSE documents, standards or testing.
Check One Product →SHORT ANSWER
First clarify what the importer means by “TSE”. It may refer to an import inspection performed by the Turkish Standards Institution, conformity with a referenced standard, a TAREKS application, or a product-specific certificate. These are not interchangeable.
What should be checked?
- Ask for the exact Turkish GTIP and the communiqué or standard cited by the importer.
- Confirm whether the request concerns CE legislation, a Turkish Standard, testing or a TAREKS file.
- Compare the requested standard with the product specification, grade, dimensions and test method.
- Verify that reports identify the same manufacturer, model and production batch.
- Allow time for possible sampling, physical inspection or laboratory testing.
Evidence to prepare
- Importer’s written request or screenshot
- Declared Turkish GTIP
- Technical specification and standard
- Accredited test reports
- Batch, label and traceability details
